Tailbone
The coccyx, otherwise known as your tailbone, sits at the end of your vertebra and is a remnant of our ancestral tail. Experts at Teach Me Anatomy say that the coccyx emerges embryologically as the skeletal remnant of the caudal eminence present from 4 to 8 weeks of gestation.
This eminence henceforth regresses, but the coccyx remains. This vestigial organ is made up of 4 coccygeal vertebrae, which may fuse as we grow older.
In fact, you’ll usually be unaware of your coccyx until a fall onto your rear end. A fractured coccyx is highly uncomfortable and might require sitting on a donut-shaped cushion for weeks on end.

I am a retired Holistic Physician who specialized in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The appendix is not expendable, as one of it’s known functions is to lubricate the ileocecal valve. God didn’t put anything in or on our bodies without it having a purpose. The fact that we have not been bright enough to discover all of them does not mean they are disposable. It just means we have not yet found their purpose.
And we are just waiting for that intelligent person to be born to tell us. Also, the appendix retains the proper gut flora to repopulate as it may be needed—evidence of a forward-thinking designer.

I guess I am one of those “lucky” individuals but as I aged, after having a minimum amount of armpit hair to begin with through my teenage years, I progressed to having no armpit hair. I also have relatively no hair on my legs or on my big toes. It has really been very nice to not have to shave these aforementioned areas. However, I was fortunate enough to have a very thick head of hair.

This article was obviously written by someone who wants to say there is no God. They have basically stated they are ignorant to why these organs are in humans. Most of these so called vestigial organs were debunked many many decades ago. Had they read up and studied what they claim. They would have found that we are finding purposes do these organs.

Wisdom teeth are important. Part of the chakra. The billions of dollars annually in extraction have put them on the list.
Tonsils very important. The swelling happens when the body is fighting a respiratory infection. Why would you remove lymph nodes and be susceptible to future ailments.
Gall bladders weren’t part of the list. Billions of dollars in the extraction.
Loved all the information but I would like to had a picture of some of them. I had no idea why some looked like or actually were they were.
Not always is it that a person will “just be fine”, specifically after an apendectomy in my case. After reading the book “10% Human” and the research done with the gut and gut problems, I have developed IBS which I have to this day, decades later. No visible problems found via blood testing, fecal testing, sigmoidoscopy, and colonoscopy. It has really screwed up my life. I can’t leave the house for hours in the morning because of it. No microbiome doctor will deal with me since fecal transplant is not covered by my insurance. Now there is even a pill to replace the procedure as of October 2023. I can’t get that. No trials will take me because I am well over 65.
This is an enlightening scientific article for me and hopefully to others who read it. I consider it as a lesson on HUMAN EVOLUTION, because these organs were of significant importance to the existence of humans. A good example of these is how our arms evolved from the front legs during the age when the theory of human evolution was from Apes / Gorillas. It is interesting that both the Tonsil and the Appendix served as organs in our digestive system with vital importance. I am a student of science with particular interest in Human Anatomy, however, I ended up in Engineering because of interest mechanical and human interaction for better living. I am still reading more on scientific / medical evolution which confirms the similarity of deteriorations between mechanical devices and human body / “AGING”. I believe that most of the ailment being treated with medications are due to deterioration rather than disease, if only the PHARMACITICAL & MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS will realize this fact and provide treatments to supplement the imbalances in the body organs parts functions as we age. My cousin had to have his appendix removed this what got him listed into the Guinness Book of world records as having the world’s longest appendix. I cant remember the exact length but it was over twenty foot. He lived quite well without it.——- I, Grampa

Some organs are vital, like the heart, lungs and liver. However, some are less important but necessary. God gave us these organs, so they ALL become VERY important. Some people believe that humans came from monkeys. Well, my response to them is: YOUR relatives may have come from monkeys, but mine certainly did not.
I believe in the creator God but also believe science points to His existence. He made our bodies perfect but they can be changed because we live in this world. These “vestigial organs” are things that we may have needed in the past or in the future. Ones that are no longer needed will disappear slowly over many many generations. The ones that we will need in the future will be activated when the time comes. God has made us very intricate, biological machines. Just as the entire universe has an intricate design…what are the odds of a planet just far enough away from the sun and having an atmosphere that could sustain life. Just look at other galaxies and you won’t find many at all. We are unique and made in His image but He knew we had to live here surrounded by all the evil in this world. Enjoyed the read. The only thing I somewhat disagree with was about wisdom teeth. In today’s world people take better care of their teeth. But many do not. So if you loose a molar, the 3rd molar can take its place. Just think about hundreds of years ago, it was probably a good thing.
Science doesn’t full understand the anatomy of the human body. I don’t think this time will ever come. Why don’t we ask ourselves why 37 trillion cells and all these other mega numbers we have in our systems. One good test to do would be to remove all these unnecessary parts from the writer and observe his physical, mental, emotional balance over time. I think our focus is going on the wrong direction.

We are blessed to have the Bible. For those interested in how Science supports the Bible, read “Origin Story” by David Christian. God created the universe ~ 13.8 Billion years ago. The universe has been continually expanding since that time. Homo sapiens (beginning with the creation of Adam & Eve) appeared ~200,000 years ago. Human bodies are far to complex to have just evolved from apes.
I believe in God and the Bible because it is a reliable collection of historical documents written down by eye witnesses during the lifetime of other eye witnesses. They report to us super natural events that took place and fulfillment of specific prophecies, and claim that their writings are divine, rather than human, in origin.
There is no external evidence to argue the Bibles claim to be the divine word of God. So the intelligent thing to do, is to believe it.
