How much do you know about the things artificial intelligence can do?
You’ve probably seen that AI technology is more and more present in our lives, and Chat GPT has already taken the world by surprise. With many other platforms that engaged people in activities they didn’t know that much about, such as Lensa AI, some people started to get a little bit paranoid about the things artificial intelligence can do to us.
It’s true that researchers are constantly developing new AI technology, so what can we expect to see in the future? Some people are scared that their jobs might be in danger, while others believe in weird conspiracy theories saying that AI is going to rule the world sooner or later.
As technology becomes more and more accepted in today’s world, concerns disappear, and people replace them with excitement and the hope that the future is going to be wonderful. And there are many things that artificial intelligence can do, just wait!
Whether you like it or not, one thing’s for sure: nowadays, whatever you do, you just can’t kick technology out of your life. Is more present than ever, from the smartphone that you hold in your hand to the gadgets you have in your home or the car that is parked on your driveway.
So without further ado, let’s talk about the chilling things that artificial intelligence can do to us.
1. Simulated pain
There were many things that were made with the help of AI, but did you know that some of the things artificial intelligence can do also include ways to simulate pain through an individual’s central nervous system?
You might be curious to know the industries in which this could be applied. Experts say that it’s in the gaming market, so if you’re someone who loves to play different video games, you’re in for a treat. That’s because, according to sources, we’re getting closer and closer to virtual reality gaming, where people could run around in environments that aren’t real but virtual.
The things artificial intelligence can do have also been explored in plenty of movies and TV shows, and I’ve recently watched a Korean show called “Memories Of The Alhambra” with my children. Is about a game that involves augmented reality (AR), and in order to play it, you have to put on a pair of contacts and start playing.
AR is when digital information is integrated with the user’s environment in real time. For instance, in this show, the player saw all the items and the enemies in the game in his real environment, but people who didn’t have that special pair of contacts couldn’t see anything. It’s a really interesting show, so I can’t recommend it enough, and you’ll also discover more about things artificial intelligence can do.
But let’s go back to the gaming industry and the things artificial intelligence can do because different companies want to create things such as heat applications and specific types of impact that can cause a physical response when a player is hurt during a game.
If you’re a bit into speculations, you can probably see the potential danger that can come from them. There are many ways that these AI technologies could take things too far and lead to some pretty dangerous AI applications. However, there are many things artificial intelligence can do, so keep reading to find out.
2. The smart pillow
Artificial intelligence can do different things while you sleep. Did you know that? Well, the main reason why all these new technologies were invented in the first place was to make people’s lives easier and more enjoyable.
Given the fact that there are lots of people who suffer from sleep apnea or other conditions that don’t allow them to get their much-needed rest during the night, the science guys invented the smart pillow for them.
There are many companies that saw AI’s potential, such as Tesla, which created a smart pillow that has three impressive functions: sleep monitoring, smart heating, and bedtime music. These gadgets typically help you nudge your head in different directions, help you sleep better and faster, and can also be connected to your smartphone with the help of an app.
If you want to see for yourself all the things artificial intelligence can do, there’s a smart pillow available on Amazon. It’s a bit pricey (roughly $300), but is a memory foam ergonomic pillow specifically created to give you a better sleep at night. If you’re interested in a pillow that supports your health conditions and that you can connect to your phone, check out this offer here!
There are some people, however, who say that they don’t feel safe knowing that they have tech items under their heads. What if the gadget goes crazy and it starts performing different commands you didn’t ask it to? If you believe in conspiracies, you might share the same opinion, but if you don’t, it might not hurt to take a look at all the impressive things artificial intelligence can do.
3. Self-driving vehicles
Ok, at first, I have to admit that I was very impressed by all the things artificial intelligence can do, especially when it comes to self-driving vehicles. I’m not that good at parking, and I would love to have a car that takes care of this without me being there.
However, I’m still a bit skeptical about this because I heard a friend of mine say that he got a crazy expensive car that is so high-tech that it can park itself, but one time, when he was on the highway, the car suddenly went into a parapet. Nobody was hurt, but the car was severely damaged.
Of course, I think that there are many amazing things artificial intelligence can do, but in my opinion, there’s still a need for research, tests, and more tests before we can 100% trust self-driving vehicles.
Some people even say that Tesla’s autopilot still needs to be supervised by a human, especially if there are any pedestrians nearby. Besides the price range for a high-tech car, you also need to be aware of the fact that you always need to keep your car clean and in check because it only takes a water droplet or a dirt particle to drive a sensor crazy, which then can cause a fatality. But we’ll see what the future brings, right?

4. ChatGPT
You probably know that ChatGPT was created as a way to help people get out of a jam, but the things artificial intelligence can do can get pretty scary. For instance, there were people who used ChatGPT to chat with Tinder users, and that’s not okay, especially if you plan on dating those individuals afterward.
What happened was that those users let ChatGPT take over the conversation, so they could seem interesting and funny, but isn’t it disturbing to know that your pleasant conversation was with a robot and not with a potential partner?
Other than that, ChatGPT could also leave tons of writers without a job because people could say that they no longer need humans to write and produce content when they could simply insert a few commands and let the AI do the work.
And we’re still not done with this, because when it comes to schools and children, many students use the power of this technology to solve their homework, so what’s the point in that?
The things artificial intelligence can do are pretty amazing, I must admit, but when they go into the wrong hands or they’re used in order to create malware, the situation takes a completely different turn, and I’m not talking about something good.
5. IBM’s Project Debater
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to engage in a debate and lose in favor of an AI? That’s actually possible because IBM Research created Project Debater, which is the first AI technology that is smart enough to beat humans in complex subjects.
This AI system is able to do its own research based on a topic, and then it could shock you with its engaging point of view that it will know how to use against you. Pretty impressive but scary at the same time, isn’t it?
So, what do you think about the things artificial intelligence can do? Are they threatening or simply wonderful? I have some mixed feelings about this topic, so I want to know what you think by leaving a comment down below!
